They say the working class is dead, we're all consumers now (si dice che la classe operaia sia morta, e che adesso si sia tutti consumatori)
They say that we have moved ahead - we're all just people now (si dice che noi si sia progrediti, che adesso si sia tutti semplicemente gente)
There's people doing 'frightfully well' there's others on the shelf (c'è gente che se le passa spaventosamente bene, ce n'è altra messa da parte)
But never mind the second kind this is the age of self (ma fregatene del secondo tipo, questa è l'epoca dell'ognun per sè)
They say we need new images to help our movement grow (si dice che s'abbia bisogno di una nuova immagine per aiutare il movimento a crescere)
They say that life is broader based as if we didn't know (si dice che la vita sia basata sulla maggioranza, come se non lo sapessimo già)

The workers 'round the world still die for Rio Tinto Zinc (gli operai in giro per il mondo muoiono ancora di Rio Tinto Zinc)
And it seems to me if we forget (e a me sembra che se ci si dimentica)
Our roots and where we stand (le nostre radici e dove siamo)
The movement will disintegrate (il movimento si disintegrerà)
Like castles built on sand (come castelli costruiti sulla sabbia)
